This text is about 2 brothers that have stolen something from a gang and the gang killed one of the brother, but the other men was hunting to find that gang and kill them all, 
How do we know? Because I watched the full movie and it I understood it well.

Point- Another reason this is shocking is because Antonio is willing to die for Bassanio. 

Evidence- Bassanio went to Antonio and asked for money but Antonio did not have money that time, so he went to Shylock and asked for some money to give to Bassanio, which is called a bond. Antonio agreed to give a pound of flesh if he didn't pay Shylock back with the amount of money that Shylock gave to Antonio, because they are very close and good friends and they wanted to save his life. Also Bassanio cares about Antonio so he wants to help him and force Shylock to show mercy.

It is also shocking because when Shylock calls Antonio out fro the way the treats him, Antonio tells Shylock that he will spit on him and call him a dog again.n This treatment is not usual between people who make agreement.
L-Link- With treatment like this from Antonio towards Shylock, and a promise to be just as cruel in the future, It is shocking that they both agreed to the bond.

In William Shakespeare 'The Merchant Of Venice' a key moment that shocked the reader was when Antonio agreed to forfeit a pound of flesh to Shylock if he didn't repay his bond. This was shocking because Antonio hated Shylock and promised to mistreat him in the future. Antonio was willing to die for Bassanio even tho he begged him not to take the risk. Finally, because Shylock had never shown mercy and did not at the trial. For these reasons it is clear that this moment was shocking to the reader.
